Ashoka Fellowship
In 2000, Neichute Doulo, after resigning lecturer in Economics at the Baptist College, Kohima was awarded the Fellowship by Ashoka: Innovators for the Public in recognition of his unique contribution in “defusing the frustration of young people in Nagaland by building a new generation of socially responsible business entrepreneurs”. Ashoka believed in Neichute’s vision of propelling a movement to raise a multitude of socially conscious entrepreneurs that would take the turbulent society “forward as a part of their growth”. Neichute is convinced that inculcating the spirit of ‘Dignity of Labour’ and empowering them to seek growth would lure them away from anti-social activities including drugs, alcohol etc. and be the answer for problems ailing his society.
